About the session
Since the rise of digital marketing and social media platforms, there’s been a debate in advertising & marketing circles about the changing nature of the industry. Some have even proclaimed ‘advertising is dead’. Every now and then, a new buzzword, platform or technology is declared the ‘next big thing’ replacing all that we know and practiced in the business of advertising. But have the fundamentals of marketing communication really changed? In this session we explore the basics that have stood the test of time with some, hopefully inspiring examples - both classic and contemporary.
What will you learn?
Basics of effective marketing communications
Examples of creative campaigns which have used media & platforms relevant for their times
Key characteristics of traditional and ‘new’ media
